Historical parquet – a solvent-free finish

Parquet restoration in historical buildings

Using oxidative-drying oils

If you're planning to restore or renovate the parquet or wood floor in buildings such as castles, museums or abbeys, the Restoration Specialists Group at the German Parquet and Wood Floor Association (Zentralverband der Parkett- und Bodentechnik) advises always using oxidative-drying oils for surface finishing.

Ensuring sufficient ventilation

After using oxidative-drying oils, it's important to ensure sufficient ventilation. A ventilation system is a must in order to ensure sufficient air changes per hour. This also means you can use our solvent-free and low-solvent oil and wax products without any concerns.

No solvents

LOBA's high-solid class oils contain little or no solvent as defined in the VOC (volatile organic compounds) regulation.
